PREM KUTIR is set up as a home for SENIOR CITIZENS of MIDDLE and LOW income group, on a sprawling area of approximately four acres of land in SHILLAR village near KARJAT
Thanks to the generous donation from Shri Krishna Chakravarthy, an entrepreneur and philanthropist, the trust received a piece of land at Shilar village where the trust constructed PREM KUTIR. The land commands a panoramic view, being situated in the valley of the Western Ghats, and has a peaceful ambience. It is situated ~25 Kms from KARJAT railway station and is ~2 hours’ drive either from MUMBAI or PUNE. Transport arrangements are provided from stations to PremKutir.
Thanks to the generous and munificence gesture of a few philanthropists, PREM KUTIR has constructed 14 independent cottages – each cottage comprising of one single-occupancy and one double-occupancy rooms furnished with basic amenities and attached toilets. Each cottage has a sit out area.
WHAT WE DO
Prem Kutir Home for senior citizens
Started a Old Age Home “PremKutir” at Shillar village, near Karjat. The concept of Shelter for SENIOR CITIZENS is to bring together all those individuals who can live together with dignity, as one community & share their ideas & experiences for common good.
Financial aid to the poor
The trust is also engaged in providing financial aid to the poor in the areas of education, healthcare, self-employment, and other day-to-day related needs.
School Education for children
While pursuing the project for Senior Citizens at Shillar village, the trust has been extending its support to the villagers in several ways. Every year, the trust distributes school uniforms, notebooks and other accessories necessary for school education to children in and around Shilar village.
Health check-up camps for villagers in and around Shillar
The trust also organises health check-up camps for villagers in and around Shillar with the help and support from leading medical practitioners.
